Back in the saddle again

October 1st, 2008

Well I’m finally back!

I said I would be gone for about 10 days, but I ended up being gone for over a month.

I came home early from my BC trip because I missed my kids too much. However, when I arrived at my grandma’s to pick them up, I learned that my house was still going through some major renovations and I didn’t get back until a few weeks later.

I spent those weeks with my grandma which was a really great experience. I haven’t spent that much time with her in since I was a little girl. I’m really happy I got to do that and after all these years, I still think I’m the luckiest grandaughter in the world. She’s inspiring and just plain cool!

She lives in a different town than I do, and my computer was buried under all my things which were piled into one room, so I didn’t get a chance to check my emails for a few weeks and I apologize for any late replies. I must have received over 3,000 spam emails since then so if you sent me something and I haven’t replied yet, it probably got lost in the spam shuffle.

On a more personal side, I’ve been going through some health issues lately which have honestly pushed me into a pretty nasty depression. I’ve had a biopsy and I’m waiting to hear the results from that. I also have surgery in two weeks so I’m a bit anxious about that as well. I’ve basically used this as an excuse not to work.

Being in pain all day and being depressed at the same time really sucks the big one, but I’m not going to let it get in my way anymore. I’m fed up with myself being a zombie all day every day, so I’m going to suck it up and start working again. I really enjoy it, and I’m happy when I do it.

I don’t normally want to get this personal but I hope that if someone else is going through something similar, it just might help them. Unfortunately, depression is really common but it’s not something most people want to talk about. It can be really hard to overcome it on your own, and working from home can sometimes be a pretty lonely job.

So anyhoo, I’ve got a post coming up for you tomorrow about some of the mistakes I made and how I plan to overcome them next time the opportunity for “blowing it” arrives. I really hope you’ll stay on board with me since I greatly value every one of my readers. You guys are the best!
