Hi Eran, thanks for the comment!

I actually read about a plugin yesterday that automatically updates WP for you whenever a new version comes out. I haven't tried it, but it might be worth looking into.

Thank you for your suggestion about the links. I've been meaning to revamp this blog for a long time, but design and coding aren't one of my stronger suits so I've kept putting it off. I've definitely bumped it up on my to-do list though, so thank you :)

Hi Cassie,

I found your blog on Jack Humphrey's FTR site and thought I'd drop in and take a look.

I took a look thru your list of things to do to improve your blog and could see several ways I could use them for my own blog as well.

Keeping WP updated is always a bit of a pain, as you know, if only because you run the risk of something breaking when you do, but I guess it's better than having a gaping security hole in your blog at the end of the day.

I love the way WP downloads & automatically updates some plugins now, and am hoping that's an upcoming feature in 2.7 to update the blog software itself. That would be VERY cool.

Fantastico doesn't release upgrades straight away, and I dislike doing it manually, so I'll keep my fingers crossed for now. :-)

As for the idea of getting rid of plugins and just modifying your code to do the job - excellent one. I have some definite areas I think I can improve with this. Shame my php coding skills are minimal, but I'll see what I can find out there.

As for asking for a review - hope you don't mind if I proffer 1 suggestion for you. I find some of the colours a bit muted or soft, hence slightly difficult to see & read properly. I have found making my hyperlinks full strength blue (as they used to be for so many years) AND including an underline DEFINITELY improves link click thru rates. You might want to try it. Otherwise, a nice neat blog with some good content - I'll be back.
