I’ve been meaning to create video for this blog for years and now I can finally say I achieved that goal!
This is something that I get asked a lot about from my clients so I’ve created a really quick tutorial for anyone who wants to add an image into their Wordpress sidebar. This tutorial gits ‘er done without using an FTP program and without having any knowledge of HTML.
The sound quality is fairly poopy but I promise the next video will be better.

Hey Cassie, that was a pretty cool little trick. Congrats on your first video. Creating videos can be fun . . . and get expensive real quick.
I recently launched a television channel (.tv) for a bunch of videos I have created for our customers (name links to it). If you ever want to talk about videos, let’s chat.
Again, congrats on reaching your goal of creating a video!

Wow, that’s really cool John! I still giggle when I think about your blooper video with the cat meowing.
Sweet little tip, Cassie. I am always looking for ways to simplify things (and NOT have to touch codes of any sort!!) The quickpress solution is a nice find. Thanks.
I’ve been thinking about doing some screencasting as well. What program did you decide upon? I was considering using CamStudio, but am looking at other open source screen capture programs.

Hey Coree,
I used Camtasia Studio. I got a free version of it a long time ago and decided to finally put it to use. I may actually dish out and upgrade to the newest version. It’s a pretty handy little program.
@ Coree – A free program I use is called TipCam. It works pretty well and the picture quality is excellent. It automatically records in .flv (flash) which is compatible with YouTube, though I like Blip.tv better for picture quality.
The downside to TipCam is you cannot record just one section of your screen, it captures your entire screen, but that usually isn’t too big of a deal.
There’s also Debut Video Capture which is free and lets you capture sections of your screen. The .flv recording mode’s picture quality isn’t as good, but the .avi quality is excellent.
For video tools, AVS has some excellent options. For $59 you get A LOT of video goodies. I bought it and it’s well worth the price. You can convert videos, edit videos, add transitions, etc.
Good luck.

Awesome, thanks John! I was hoping you’d pipe in and share some resources.
No problem. I’ve done a ton of testing with various products.
The microphone to get is the Audio Technical AT2020. It costs about $100 but is WELL worth every penny. When you use it for the first time you’ll be very impressed.
