Don’t know what to write your special report about?

Special reports are a great way to pull in some extra cash and you can even generate passive income with them. With special reports, you can:

  • Bring traffic back to your website or blog.
  • Build your subscriber list by promoting your newsletter or ecourse.
  • Grow your membership site by giving readers more information about it and linking to your signup page.
  • Increase sales by spreading the word about your product.
  • Generate an income by including links to related affiliate products.
  • Sell them and make money from the special reports directly!

These little guys don’t have to be complicated, but they can sure be profitable if you’re go about it the right way.

Need an idea for your first Special Report?

How about case studies?

People love case studies because they can learn what the results are of certain “experiments” without actually doing the work themselves. After reading the case study, they can then decide if it’s something they’re willing to try or not. This can save them a lot of time and money, so it’s definitely information they want to get their hands on. It can be worth a lot!

Putting a case study together can be fairly easy, especially for internet marketers.

Let’s say you want to increase your newsletter list by 500 percent in two weeks. You make a list of all the things you’ll be doing to reach that goal. Make sure you document everything along the way.

When you come up with your results, put everything together and VOILA! You have yourself a case study. You can be extremely detailed and provide a wealth of information with just one case study, or you can summarize your results and offer multiple case studies in one special report.

Why not do monthly “Case Study Special Reports” and sell them each month? You can create a subscriber list and notify your eager customers each time you come out with a new one. You can also use survey your list or ask for feedback to get some ideas for future case studies or special reports.

This is just one simple idea but hopefully it leads to more. It can be applied to almost any business, online or not.

Who gives a crap about Twitter followers?

Why I don’t give a shit about how many Twitter followers I have…

I’ve been using Twitter for almost a year now. I’ve enjoyed it and will continue to enjoy it for (I hope) a long while yet.

However, the amount of people who are “gaming” Twitter is increasing and I’m actually quite pissed off about it.

There are all kinds of people who have all kinds of “tips” to increase followers, get more retweets, etc. Here’s a tip for those people.

Be yourself! Be real! Stop ruining it for the rest of us!

Auto-following, auto-DMs, unfollowing people as soon as they follow you back – this crap has to stop.

I’m not talking about stuff like this (How To Get ReTweeted – The Formula) – I completely agree with that. It’s when people try and inflate their numbers and use automation. It’s deceiving!

There is no secret to Twitter. But there are definitely ways to turn it into shit so the rest of Twitterland has to suffer.

I’m not concerned that I don’t have as many Twitter followers as Joe Blow, Guru Extraordinaire. I care about my relationship with them.

You can have 5000 followers and not have any kind of genuine connection with any of them because you’re a douche and use crappy tactics to increase your numbers.

You could also have less than 300 followers and have a great relationship with them because you’re authentic. You’ll also have more respect from your readers – and you can’t put a price on that.

Giving your readers too many options can be a big No-No

860327_53728466It’s hard as an internet marketer not to visit someone else’s site and view it with a critical eye.

Many times I click to a page and can point out 30 things that I would have done differently.

One mistake I see a lot of marketers make is cluttering up their pages.

I just visited a sales page yesterday that had CPM ads at the bottom and in the sidebar along with links to other websites and products.

This was a sales page for an ebook.

When potential customers view this page, they have many options before them. They can buy the ebook, they can decide not to buy the ebook, they can click on an ad, or they can click on a large selection of links.

Too many choices!

The main goal of this sales page is to sell that ebook. Not to make a few cents by clicking on ads, or driving away traffic completely by posting links to other web sites.

Take that crap off!

You have your sales letter, your opt-in form, and the “Buy Now” button. That’s it. No more, no less.

Don’t confuse your visitors by providing too many choices. They’ll feel overwhelmed, distracted, and much less likely to purchase. “Analysis paralysis” if you will. Read more about this as well as a few other “website no-no’s“.

Review your own pages to see if you’re making the same mistake. Take away any possible distractions for your visitors and start making more sales.

Making money with special reports

moneyIf you have a blog or website, chances are you’ve heard of special reports. You probably even have a bunch saved on your computer that you’ve downloaded from other websites.

But did you know that you can be raking in some decent cash by creating your own special reports?

Special reports are generally short PDF or audio files that are tightly focused on one topic. They’re great for building an email list, generating traffic to your website, and promoting and selling your own products or affiliate products.

You don’t need to be an award-winning author to create special reports. You can create them even if you despise writing. Just make a recording of yourself or you interviewing someone, and have it transcribed into text format. Simple right?

There are lots of ways you can go about creating and marketing your special reports, and I’ve got all that information for you in one handy, idea-packed special report. Go figure hey? You’ll also find out how to profit from your own special reports and how to turn it into passive income. You can learn more about creating and profiting from special reports here.
