I just love analogies. Apparently other people do too since I noticed one of the guys who was renovating my house wrote “I love analogies” on a two by four…
So anyways, I thought I’d do an analogy post today. I like them because they make me think about things in a different way which can be pretty inspiring sometimes.
I was just thinking today that growing an online business (or any business for that matter) is a lot like growing a garden.
No matter what your end goals are, you always start off by planting a seed. The more seeds you plant, the bigger your garden. The more time you spend tending to your garden, the better it will look and the more satisfaction you’ll get out of it.
Now apply that to your online business.
Let’s say you start with one blog and you post one blog post a day. Eventually you’ll have a nice little thing going, but it won’t grow too much or too fast.
However, if you write more than one blog post a week and spend time promoting your site, it will grow exponentially.
If you let your blog go stale, it’s like having an ugly garden that you’re embarrassed of whenever someone comes over and sees it.
Don’t you just love analogies?
I just can’t figure out if comment spam should be weeds or garden pests.
