Yay, it’s Valentine’s Day. What could be better than celebrating Valentine’s Day when you’re single?

I’d like to wish a happy V-day to all my fellow single WAHMs. I hope it’s not as lonely and depressing as mine.

In all seriousness, today is a great day to reflect on how far I’ve come in the past few years. I was reminded of my situation the other day when I read Yuwanda’s post at Blogging Tips about relationships and how they can affect your blogging.
I realized that (even though I’m spending yet another Valentine’s Day alone) I’m in a much better place and my kids are being raised in a happy, healthy environment.
Being a work at home mom has it’s challenges, and being a single work at home mom can prove to be extremely difficult – but in the end it’s all worth it. If I have to put up with a few more solitary Valentine’s Days, then so be it.

Instead of wallowing in self-pity, I’m going to use this day to be thankful for where I am and what I have. I’m single but happy. I have two amazing kids that love me unconditionally. That’s really all I need.

Cassie,
I love your outlook. So many people scramble to find another partner when a relationship ends and are “afraid to be alone” for a nanosecond. You always have such a nice, healthy outlook on things.

Thanks Jeanne!
I finally learned that it’s much easier to “cope” with being single if you can figure out how to actually enjoy it. I just keep reminding myself how nice it is to walk into the bathroom and not have to put the toilet seat down every time.
I wish I would have been single this Valentine’s Day. It was my 1st non single one in several years and it was worse than when I was single. I am glad to be single again (dumped via text message a few days after V day) to focus on just my son and I. Great post!

Well I sure hope next Valentines Day is a great one for you, even if you’re single. Spending V-day alone is much better than dealing with a douchebag!
It was fun spending the day with my kids. We watched movies and cuddled and made cards and stuff. Good times
