It’s time for me to move to a new hosting company that doesn’t suck. I’ve been really happy with the company I started with until recently. My sites are experiencing more downtime than what is acceptable and my requests to address the issue have not been resolved. Now I’m going through the wonderfully fun process of transferring everything over. There may be some wonkiness going on until everything is settled. I hope you’ll excuse me. Pray that I don’t completely break anything!

It sucks when you can’t get issues resolved with the current company you are using. Good luck! I hope it’s a smooth transition for you.

Thanks Tishia – I’m sure it will be a smooth transition if I can ever figure out how to do it!
What hosting service were you using and who are you moving too. I have been using Dreamhost since 2003 and I have always been really happy with them, but there are a lot of good hosting services out there. Good luck and hopefully you get things resolved. It is really frustrating when you want to write a new post, or make some money and the site is down.

@Ryan Martin – I’m currently using ASmallOrange and I hate to say anything bad about them because they’ve been really good, but the downtime lately is getting unacceptable. I’m in the process of switching all my sites over to Media Temple.
I understand Cassie. I hate to bad mouth companies too, especially when you really like them. With my web design company I have moved a lot of websites over from one host to another and it isn’t too bad of a process.

@Ryan Martin – Yeah I feel bad for saying anything negative about anyone or any company, especially online. I’ve actually had quite the time trying to switch over to this new host. I’m tempted to just pay someone to do it for me since I can’t figure the stinkin’ thing out myself!
I was wondering how it’s going with Media Temple. Are you impressed so far? I use BlueHost most of the time & have good experiences. However now I have a new client with a resource hog flash website.. so I was considering MT. Anything to share? Thanks,
David
@David – Actually I gave up trying to figure it out and thought I would try again later when I wasn’t so frustrated with it. I’m sure it’s a fairly straightforward process but I was having trouble getting my subdomains transferred over. I’m sure I’m going about it wrong. Then I got sick and I’m sick again with something different so I’m hoping to try again in a few days when my head is on a bit straighter.
I see. Stymied by double sickness.
Ok thanks for the response & hope you feel better.
